Palestine confirms 20 deaths and 2,353 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 20 deaths and 2,353 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Thursday.

The new deaths involved 11 in the West Bank, seven in the Gaza Strip and two in Jerusalem.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 89.6 percent, while the active case rate is 9.3 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 119 in Tulkarm; 42 in Qalqilya; 199 in Jenin; 56 in Tubas; 238 in Hebron; 29 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 31 in Salfit; 60 in Bethlehem; 11 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 129 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 1,081 in Gaza Strip; and 61 in Jerusalem.

The recovery cases included 120 in Tulkarm; 266 in Nablus; 130 in Qalqilya; 231 in Jenin; 26 in Tubas; 416 in Hebron; 31 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 120 in Bethlehem; 18 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 141 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 265 in Gaza Strip; and 161 in Jerusalem.

Currently, 209 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 67 are on ventilators.

A total of 9,065 PCR tests were conducted.
