The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health and head of the coronavirus portfolio Wael al-Hayajneh, who resigned Sunday, said Jordanians will get through the crisis in the near future.

Hayajneh told Roya that there has been a noticeable 'decrease in the epidemiological situation' in Jordan but no predictions can be made at this point. He stressed that people need to be cautious of this dangerous virus.

Hayajneh said "It seems that we have reached the peak of the current wave of the coronavirus pandemic, but I am not absolutely sure of that." He spoke about the indicators related to the COVID-19 situation in Jordan, noting that there has been an increase in the number of coronavirus patients in Intensive Care Units.

He called on citizens and residents to be careful during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, and stressed the need to avoid gatherings.
