A government source denied rumors circulating about the new defense orders which include the extended curfew hours. The rumors claimed that the defense orders will come into effect Wednesday.

However, a government source told Roya that the new defense orders will start Saturday morning, contrary to the document being shared on social media.

The document circulatied online included details about new measures including the extension of curfew hours which start at 7pm seven, while allowing restaurants and pharmacies to operate through deliveries until midnight, starting Wednesday. The government has yet to provide details about the new measures.

Tuesday, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Sakher Dudin, announced that the government will impose several new measures to tackle the pandemic, including curfew hour extensions, increased inspection tours, the provision of delivery services, and issuing defense orders. However, he noted that the government will make more important announcements in regards to these matters Wednesday and Thursday.
