Dozen missiles target Iraq's Ain al-Asad airbase

Wednesday, at least ten missiles targeted the Ain Al-Assad base, which includes American forces, in western Iraq, according to Iraqi and Western security sources, two days before Pope Francis' historic visit to Iraq.

"Ten missiles targeted an Iraqi military base, Ain Al-Assad base, which includes coalition forces, on March 3, 2021, at about 7:20am," Wayne Maruto, a spokesman for the International Coalition to Combat the Jihadists in Iraq, said in a tweet, adding that "the Iraqi security forces are leading the investigation."
