Jordanians celebrate Valentine's Day by dressing donkeys in red

Last year, a group of Jordanians celebrated Valentine's Day by dressing up a number of donkeys in all red. Pictures and videos of these donkeys in Irbid have circulated across social media platforms again this year. 

An recent study indicated that Jordanian spending on Valentine's Day has increased by 49 percent over a period of three years.

Spending in the period leading up to Valentine's Day (Feb. 11 to 14) has increased by 75 percent over the same period.
