Wednesday, the head of the emergency team and the director of public works at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Issam Jaradat, announced the raising of maximum readiness in Aqaba, based on forecasts of the prevailing weather of heavy rains Wednesday and Thursday.

He added that due to the given the weather, there is a possibility of torrential flooding and a rise in water levels in the rainwater drainage channels.

Jaradat confirmed that the authority, in cooperation with the concerned teams, have taken all necessary measures and distributed teams and mechanisms according to the emergency weather plans for Aqaba.

Jaradat warned citizens and residents to stay away from flood streams, water drainage channels and areas where rainwater gathers to maintain their safety.
