Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi discussed during a press conference in Moscow with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

Safadi indicated that Russia has a big role in solving the regional challenges in order to achieve security and stability in the region.

Additionally, within the conference they discussed the two-state solution and other issues of the region.

Safadi stressed that the two-state solution is at risk due to the severe violations from the Israeli Occupation.

"We agree with the Russian side on the importance of activating the international quartet [Quartet on the Middle East] and its role in achieving peace," said Safadi.

The Quartet on the Middle East is a foursome of nations and international and supranational entities involved in mediating the Palestinian-Israeli peace process.

Safadi also talked to his counterpart about the COVID-19 vaccine. He stressed that Jordan looks forward to signing an agreement with Russia to obtain the Russian vaccine 'Sputnik V'.
