Palestine confirms five deaths and 470 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded five deaths and 470 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Monday.

The new deaths involved five in the West Bank.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 93.6 percent, while the active case rate is 5.3 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 17 in Salfit; 39 in Tulkarm; 64 in Nablus; 18 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 12 in Tubas; eight in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 70 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 14 in Bethlehem; 23 in Hebron; four in Qalqilya; 11 in Jenin; and 190 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 20 in Salfit; 48 in Tulkarm; 95 in Nablus; zero in the suburbs of Jerusalem; four in Tubas; six in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 51 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 40 in Bethlehem; 19 in Hebron; eight in Qalqilya; 26 in Jenin; and 412 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 61 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 12 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,078 PCR tests were conducted.
