Palestine records eight deaths and 524 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded eight deaths and 524 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Monday.

The new deaths involved five in the West Bank (one in Tulkarem; one in Bethlehem; one in Hebron; one in Jenin; one in Ramallah and Al-Bireh), and three in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 92 percent, while the active case rate is 6.9 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 33 in Tulkarem; 15 in Salfit; 12 in Tubas; 13 in Qalqilya; 20 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 22 in Bethlehem; 44 in Nablus; 41 in Hebron; 23 in Jenin; 64 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and 237 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 66 in Tulkarem; 14 in Salfit; six in Tubas; 16 in Qalqilya; 27 in the suburbs in Jerusalem; 30 in Bethlehem; 221 in Nablus; 32 in Hebron; 48 in Jenin; 87 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; seven in Jericho and Al-Aghwar, and 390 in the Gaza Strip.

Currently, 81 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 22 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,013 PCR tests were conducted.

No COVID-19 information was given on Jerusalem city.
