The Minister of Health Nathir Obeidat Sunday said the two cases of the new strain of coronavirus involve a married couple who came together from Britain. 

The couple arrived in the Kingdom on board of the last plane from Britain on Dec. 19. Obeidat said both patients are in 'excellent' health condition. They are isolated at home and will remain under close examination by health investigation teams, he added.

Obeidat said there is no evidence that the mutated variant causes more infections or deaths than the first virus.

He said Jordan will receive one million doses of the vaccine but in installments, the first of which will arrive at the end of January or early February.
