Thursday, Kuwait began a nationwide coronavirus vaccination campaign, with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sabah Al-Khalid becoming the first person vaccinated in the country.
In a press conference, Al-Khalid said "The Pfizer vaccine is safe."
The Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh also received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine Thursday.
The Kuwaiti Minister of Health said the vaccination campaign will continue for a year, until all residents of the country are vaccinated.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Kuwait has confirmed a total of 148,773 coronavirus cases and 924 deaths.
