The assistant secretary general for primary health care Ghazi Sharkas Friday called on citizens who test positive for coronavirus and people who come into contact with COVID-19 patients to cooperate with health investigation teams.

He added that those contacted by these COVID-19 investigation teams should get tested and abide by home isolation measures, to avoid further spreading of the virus and contributing to an increase in the number of cases in Jordan.

Sharkas reiterated the importance of people in home quarantine to abide by isolation measures, even if the number of COVID-19 cases is decreasing.

He added that based on other countries' experiences, 'surprises and setbacks' may occur due to leniency and lack of compliance with health and safety measures.
