Saturday, the Jordan Seismological Observatory recorded an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale which occurred in the south of the coastal city of Alanya, Turkey.
According to the observatory, the earthquake occurred at 2:44 PM local Jordanian time.
The impact of the earthquake was felt by Jordanian citizens, especially in the northern regions of Amman during afternoon hours.
Seismologist Mahmoud Al-Qaryouti confirmed that the earthquake that occurred in Turkey was expected to be felt by the inhabitants of Jordan, considering its proximity.
