The Palestinian government may impose a total lockdown in the coming period, announced the Ministry of Interior Thursday.

The ministry's spokespersoon, Ghassan Nimer said that this comes due to the high increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the country.

Palestine recorded 16 deaths and 2,188 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 90,192.
