Jordan confirms highest daily number of coronavirus cases

Jordan has recorded 66 deaths and 6,454 new coronavirus cases Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 155,993.

The cases are:

  • 2,641 in Amman
  • 590 in Ajloun
  • 371 in Balqa
  • 214 in Aqaba
  • 205 in Ma'an, including 42 in Petra
  • 110 in Karak
  • 1,131 in Irbid, including 334 in Ramtha
  • 418 in Mafraq
  • 356 in Zarqa
  • 214 in Madaba
  • 157 in Tafilah
  • 47 in Jerash

The death toll since the beginning of the crisis amounts to 1,909.

A total of 289 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 200 have been discharged upon recovery.

A total of 4,658 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 90,267.

There are 2,153 patients receiving treatment in hospitals, including 474 in the Intensive Care Units.

A total of 27,441 PCR tests have been conducted Tuesday, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 2,237,942.

Tuesday, 23.5 percent of PCR tests have come back positive.
