The Independent Election Commission released the final voter participation figures, after the end of the voting period for the 19 parliamentary elections at 9pm Tuesday.
Voter participation stood at 29.9 percent, which means it is 6.1 percent less than 2016's 18 parliamentary elections, said the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission Khaled Kalaldeh.
Approximately 1,387 million votes were cast upon closure of the ballot boxes Tuesday, out of a total of nearly 4.64 million who have the right to vote.
In 2016, approximately 1.5 million citizens voted out of nearly 4.134 million who have the right to vote.
The voter participation percentages across the Kingdom were as follows:
Amman (1): 14.83 percent
Amman (2): 13.87 percent
Amman (3): 11.66 percent
Amman (4): 25.59 percent
Amman (5): 17.05 percent
Irbid (1): 28.48 percent
Irbid (2): 45.37 percent
Irbid (3): 39.09 percent
Irbid (4): 43.77 percent
Balqa: 36.27 percent
Karak: 54.58 percent
Ma'an: 50.2 percent
Zarqa (1): 15.72 percent
Zarqa (2): 27.99 percent
Mafraq: 45.36 percent
Tafilah: 49.26 percent
Madaba: 45.08 percent
Jerash: 50.86 percent
Ajloun: 49.41 percent
Aqaba: 37.76 percent
Northern Badia: 56.69 percent
Middle Badia: 56.69 percent
Southern Badia: 65.74 percent
