His Majesty King Abdullah II received Wednesday, a phone call from the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, during which they discussed prospects for cooperation and strategic partnerships between Jordan and the EU.

The purpose of the call was to discuss dealing with regional and international efforts in the war on terror, and the importance of strengthening cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism.

Michel emphasized the leadership role of His Majesty the King in promoting security, peace and global harmony, and the importance of the "Aqaba Meetings" initiative launched by His Majesty.

His Majesty affirmed Jordan's rejection and condemnation of all forms of terrorism, which belongs to no religion.

His Majesty also stressed the need to reject all forms of hate speech, and to perpetuate the values of harmony, peace and respect for others, which are embodied in Islam.
