An individual infected with COVID-19 can infect others and transmit the virus three or four days prior to any symptoms appearing, as about 200 viral particles are released into the air with one exhalation.

The transmission period of COVID-19 peaks two days before symptoms appear and on the first day of symptoms appearing as well.
