The government has proposed measures to deal with COVID-19 in the event that the number of infections reaches between 3,000 - 4,000 per day Saturday.
On the “Haqqak Ti’raf” governmental platform, the government released documents which outline proposed scenarios which took place during periodic discussions and exercises that the Coronavirus Crisis Management Cell holds.
The content of these scenarios, discussions and exercises have not been discussed on a ministerial level or at the level of governmental leaders.
The paper outlined the possible imposition of a two-day-a-week total lockdown, increasing curfew hours and the prevention of movement between governorates except for permit holders.
In addition the paper includes granting work permits for vital sectors while closing the rest of the sectors and other measures.
The government has stressed that this is only a proposed scenario which was developed by a committee that includes a number of ministerial representatives and concerned authorities.
The Coronavirus Crisis Management Cell held these discussions to deal with the various stages of the spread of COVID-19 in line with scientific methodologies.
This takes into account the balance between citizen health preservation and the continued work of various economic sectors.
The current measures taken to decrease COVID-19 cases include:
