A History teacher was beheaded outside the school he worked at, near Paris on Friday, after he had recently shown his students caricatures of Prophet Muhammad, according to the AFP News Agency.

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has called what happened as an "Islamist terrorist attack."

The suspected killer who was shot dead by police was an 18-year-old from Chechnya and born in Moscow, a judicial source told AFP on Saturday.

In addition, a total of four people, including a minor, have been arrested following the attack, which took place in the Conflans Sainte-Honorine suburb northwest of Paris, the judicial source added.
