Three people have impersonating official government employees and entered a woman's house in Amman, where they beat her and stole some money, announced the Criminal Investigation Department at the  Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Monday.

The woman was hospitalized and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The three criminals  have been identified and the clothes they used to impersonate official government employees have also been seized.

During police interrogations, they admitted to the crime, according to the Criminal Investigation Department.

The PSD is calling on citizens to be cautious when dealing with strangers and not allow people into their homes without verifying their identities through official ID cards.

In suspicious cases, citizens should contact the institution the employees claim to be affiliated with to double check.

Citizens can also call 911 or visit the nearest security center in emergency cases.
