The government announced the COVID-19 PCR test will be free for anyone who is alerted by the AMAN app that they have come into contact with a positive case.

This came after Roya has published a video of a woman who said the government required her to pay for the coronavirus test when she was alerted by the app that she had come into contact with someone who had the virus.

The woman went to al-Bashir Hospital to take the PCR test but the hospital transferred her, along with other people, to the Health Ministry.

However, when they arrived at the ministry, they were told that PCR tests are conducted at governmental hospitals not at the ministry’s health centre.

She added that when they returned to al-Bashir Hospital, the hospital required them to pay JD 40 for the test.

As a result of this, al-Bashir Hospital said in a statement on Sunday that anyone who has the AMAN app and it shows them that they had come into contact with a positive case will be tested for COVID-19 for free.
