Forty-four new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Jordan on Wednesday, including 43 local cases, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 1,482.
The cases involve:
• 22 at Al-Omari border crossing — 18 Egyptians, two Pakistani and two Jordanians.
• Three cases in Ramtha — all of which came into contact with another positive case.
• 15 cases in Amman — 11 Jordanian, three Egyptians and one Iraqi, all of which came into contact with other positive cases.
• Two cases in Zarqa, all of which came into contact with other positive cases.
• One case in Aqaba, who came into contact with another positive case.
The case from Aqaba is a man who was visiting from Amman, his sister has been diagnosed with coronavirus and is currently hospitalised.
Sixteen recovery cases were confirmed on Wednesday.
A total of 7,294 COVID-19 tests were conducted today.
Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, said 75 new health investigation teams have been have started operating.
