Four new coronavirus cases were confirmed on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 1,183 in Jordan since the start of the crisis.

According to a statement issued by the government, today’s new infections appear as follows:

• Three cases involve Jordanians returning from abroad, who are currently in quarantine hotels. Two have travelled from Saudi Arabia, and one from the U.S.

• A Jordanian truck driver who arrived via the Al-Omari border crossing from Saudi Arabia.

According to the statement, 11 patients have recovered, including five at Prince Hamzah Hospital in Amman and six in quarantine in the Dead Sea.

The total number of coronavirus tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis has now reached 47,1801.

Despite the low number of cases in Jordan, the government urged people to take the risk of COVID-19 seriously, advising citizens to continue wearing masks, social distance and stay up-to-date.
