A Member of Parliament has called on the government to “look with compassion” and support women who work in private nurseries.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, MP Khalil Attieh pointed out the financial losses faced by the sector as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, leading to an accumulation of debts.

“We are looking to you, our Prime Minister, and to the government to look with compassion towards these women and, as you always used to, find us solutions and provide assistance for these women before they turn from [being productive to being accused of financial crimes],” wrote Attieh.
