A tenth person has died from COVID-19 in Jordan, the government announced on Friday, July 3.

The 63-year-old truck driver died at Prince Hamza Hospital having tested positive for the virus after returning from Saudi Arabia, a source told Roya.

Minister of Health Saad Jaber said the man had tested positive at the border and was subsequently admitted to hospital on May 25. He remained on a ventilator prior to his death.

The Ministry of Health announced 11 new corona virus cases on Friday, including one local
case, which brings the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 1,147.
