A hookah lounge shut down by officials in Amman

The competent authorities shut down on Sunday, June 21, a hookah lounge in a restaurant in Amman for serving hookah without a license.

The Jordan Food and Drug Administration, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, delegates from the Amman governorate and the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) implemented an inspection campaign on restaurants and cafes. to ensure that they're following safety measures.

Warnings and violations were also sent out to grocery stores selling expired items and other stores were advised to check on their products expiry dates.

The following video shows cadres closely inspecting food supplies in stores and monitoring restaurants in terms of hygiene, adherence to the Defence Law, and general health and safety conditions.
