The relevant authorities and security forces isolated today 55 residential buildings in the Jawa area, south of Amman, after coronavirus cases were recorded in the area, the Deputy Director of South Amman Police Department, Colonel Ala'a Al-Momani said in an official statement.

The epidemiological inspection teams have deployed in the area to collect samples from people who had direct contact with the cases recorded in the area in the past two days.

Earlier yesterday, the Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, revealed that 12 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Jordan.

Among the cases is a barber who contracted the virus from an infected truck driver in the Jawa area.
