One new coronavirus case was confirmed today in the West Bank and five in occupied East Jerusalem, bringing the total number of cases in Palestine to 480, according to the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Alkailah.

During the daily briefing on the corona pandemic in Ramallah, Akailah said that the West Bank case is a Palestinian medic from Dahrieh town who contracted the virus during his work at Augusta Victoria Hospital in East Jerusalem, while the other five cases were discovered in three different East Jerusalem neighborhoods.

Akailah said five patients have recovered in the West Bank raising the total in the Palestinian territories to 92, including 18 in occupied Jerusalem.

She said that all the patients at the corona centers in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are in good health and no one is currently in the ICU.

She also said 384 cases remain under treatment with the recovery of 74 in the West Bank and Gaza and the death of two patients in the West Bank. Two Palestinian patients have also died in East Jerusalem.

The Health Minister said 75% of the cases in the West Bank are workers in Israel and people who had direct contact with them.

A total of 27,000 corona tests have been conducted so far, she added, and that 10,318 suspected cases are in home quarantine while 250 are in corona quarantine centers in West Bank and Gaza and 134 in East Jerusalem.
