Health Minister Dr. Saad Jaber said on Sunday, April 12, that a residential neighborhood in the Al-Nasr area, east of Amman, was isolated after three new coronavirus cases were recorded there during random testing conducted by the investigation teams in the area yesterday.

Jaber stated that the epidemiological investigation teams are continuing their work in the neighborhood to investigate the source of the virus infection and test those who were in contact with the infected, according to Jordan News Agency (Petra).

The following video has been circulated on social media platforms showing the moment when the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) isolated the neighborhood.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Jordan has reached 389, as eight new cases were confirmed yesterday Jaber announced during a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management.

The new cases are three people in the northern Hashmi (Hashmi Al Shamali) building in Amman, one person who contracted the virus from his infected father, one who had contact with an infected person and three cases discovered during random tests conducted by the epidemiological investigation teams, the Minister said.

"24 recovery cases were reported today, of which 20 at Prince Hamzah Hospital in Amman, three at King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid and one at the Queen Alia Military Hospital," Jaber confirmed.
