The director of the Infection Control Department at Amman Surgical Hospital, Amani Rumman, has confirmed that all hospital personnel are in good health and that all preventive measures against coronavirus have been taken with advanced steps.

She exclusively told Roya that the hospital had not received any official letter indicating that it will be shut down, noting "we were surprised when the security services arrived at the hospital and shut it down."

She indicated that the COVID-19 infections recorded at the hospital are a nurse and his fiancée as they had direct contact with an infected non-Jordanian person, adding that the nurse transmitted the infection to her fiancé.

The fourth case that was recorded is a visitor to the hospital, who underwent a COVID-19 test and the result was positive, Rumman stated, explaining that he works as a doctor but not at the hospital.

All people who had direct contact with the first infected person at the hospital were tested in a private laboratory, stressing that the Ministry of Health did not examine any of the hospital's cadres until this morning.

She mentioned that "15 people had close contact with the first patient, while 13 people from inside the hospital had contact with the second, as 100 samples were to be taken from the hospital cadres, but it was not done because the hospital entrances were closed."

All patients receiving treatment at the hospital were tested and the results were all negative.
