Spokesman for the national committee for epidemics Nathir Obaidat confirmed that 13 coronavirus cases were reported on Sunday evening, March 15.

In a phone call with Roya this morning, Obaidat said that two new cases were reported this morning in King Abdullah Hospital in Irbid governorate.

He stressed that all the infected are quarantined at Prince Hamzah Hospital, adding that 60 people who had direct contact with the infected have undergone medical examinations. However, the results have not been shown yet.

"Everyone who had direct contact with the infected is suspected of having the virus," Obaidat said, noting that all hospitals in the Kingdom are equipped enough to provide the infected with treatment, except for the infected who may be in critical health conditions.

He stated that the infected are five French tourists, an Iraqi woman and nine Jordanians and range in age between 40 and 65 years.

The Health Ministry has called on people to "deal with each other as if they are all infected" in order to avoid the spread of the virus.
