The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates' operations center is constantly following up, through the Jordanian Embassy in Nurstan (Astana), on an attack on a group of engineers including Jordanians working for the CCC in the Republic of Kazakhstan, according to the spokesman for the Ministry, Sufian Qudah.

The attack took place on a CCC camp in Tengiz city, about 2200 km away from the capital, Nurstlan.

Qudah explained that since the news of the attack was spread, the Jordanian ambassador to Kazakhstan has officially requested the Kazakh competent authorities to take all necessary measures to provide immediate security protection for the Jordanian citizens there.

The spokesman confirmed that the authorities there responded to the request of the Jordanian embassy and that the matter is now under the control of security and work has been on the transfer of all citizens from that region to the area (Atrao) near the center of the province.

The Kazakh authorities there responded to the request of the Jordanian Embassy, Qudah noted, confirming that the situation is now under the control of security agencies, as all citizens were moved to the Atyrau area near the province's center.

Qudah stressed that the Jordanians working in the area there are fine and have suffered some minor injuries, where they received the necessary health care, adding that the Embassy there continues to communicate with all Jordanians to check on their condition and secure their needs.

Qudah asked anyone who receives any information about the injury of any other Jordanians to contact the Jordanian Embassy in Kazakhstan or the Ministry at 00962795497777 and round the clock.
