The Amman Court has sentenced, in absentia, on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, the former MP Hind Al-Fayez to one year in prison for issuing a cheque without account balance after the council of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) filed a lawsuit against her.

In addition to the sentence, the bench warrant included a fine of JD 100.

According to press sources, the amount of money in the cheque, which was issued without a balance, amounted to JD 70,800, where it was proved by the evidence received that Al-Fayez has committed the offense, which called on the court to issue the decision on January 16, 2019, to imprison her for a year.
