State Security calls fugitive Bashar Awni Muti, five others to surrender to justice

The State Security Court (SSC) published through local newspapers on Sunday the names of six wanted suspects, including the son of the main accused in the tobacco case, Awni Mutee, ordering them to surrender within ten days of the date of publication otherwise the state will consider them fugitives from justice and their assets will be confiscated.

According to the announcement, two of the wanted men are of Lebanese and Dutch nationality. The following are the names of the six wanted suspects:

  • Bashar Awni Mutee - Jordanian
  • Atef Hussein - Dutch Nationality
  • Ahmed Mahmoud Hussein Da'asan - Jordanian
  • Mustafa Nour Mohammed Eid - Lebanese nationality
  • Ra’ad Abeed Tawfiq Abu Rumman - Jordanian
  • Ismail Salman Salem Aby Maz’oul - Jordanian

The prosecutor of the State Security Court, Col. Judge Al-Askari Fawaz Al-Atoum, announced earlier the details of the final indictment of the investigation and the charges against the accused in the tobacco case.

The final indictment revealed a list of a total of 54 accused individuals and companies and the full charges against them in the full detail, revealing that some have been detained while others are fugitives from justice.

State Security Prosecution charged the accused with economic crimes, endangering the safety and security of society and jeopardizing national economic resources, including customs smuggling and evasion of general sales tax.
