Four people were put on trial today for burning the car of a retired General Intelligence Department (GID) officer’s car, as well as the theft and destruction of a car that belonged to a reported “magician.”

The suspects were charged with terrorism in front of the State Security court.

The four suspects have denied the terrorism charges since May, which included charges of joining and promoting ISIS.

The four suspects had been friends since 2008, all of them being residents of Rusayfa.

According to a report, the suspects had performed an Istikhara prayer - a prayer recited by Muslims when conflicted over a decision - before deciding to burn the retired GID officer’s car.

The suspects then walked to the area the retired officer lived, poured gas over his car, and proceeded to set it on fire.

The accused are also on trial for reportedly stealing the car of an alleged magician who had harassed a local girl in Rusayfa.

The idea for stealing the magician’s (whose powers are still a bit of a mystery to Roya) was agreed upon by the suspects, and two of them later proceeded to steal the car, and drive into the night until the gas ran out, which later incited all four suspects to push the vehicle into a valley in Rusayfa.

After ISIS’ appearance in 2015, one of the suspects expressed support for the terrorist group, talking about its legitimacy and accomplishments to his friends.
