Zarqa Municipality has seized and destroyed 700 kg of mouldy vegetables and 200 kg of expired makeup products.

The rotten vegetables were spotted while employers from the Health and Safety Department were patrolling the streets of Al Ghoweireyyeh area with the police, according to the Mayor of Zarqa, Ali Abu Sukkar.

Abu Sukkar said that the spoiled goods were being sold out of a mobile shop and that the vendors were planning on selling them to restaurants.

Meanwhile, the out-of-date makeup products were seized from a cosmetics shop located in the commercial centre.

Both offenders have been handed over to the police.
