It’s true what they say: Every man is the architect of his own fortune.

And young Jordanian architect Asma Bakeirat is proof of that after being nominated for the prestigious SBID International Design Award.

The 28-year-old designer is competing against 16 talented architects with her classic-meets-modern design, reported Al Kawn News.

Bakeirat believes that competing for a SBID is “an achievement in itself,” she told Al Rai newspaper.

Bakeirat also encouraged Jordanian youth to follow their dreams and develop their skills and talents.

“You can reach what you want with persistence and determination,” she added.

The British SBID Awards are judged by a distinguished international judging panel, comprised of world-renowned industry professionals and experts.

Winners and finalists will enjoy numerous benefits, according to the SBID official website. Those benefits include “free entry to the House of Lords networking event; inclusion in the SBID Global Interior Design 2017 coffee table book; a winner/finalist certificate; extensive media and social media exposure throughout the year and the right to use the ‘SBID Winner/Finalist 2017′ logo on their website."

The ceremony will take place on 27 October at the Dorchester Hotel in London, UK.
