His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, saluted all military ranks of the Eastern Military Zone on Wednesday.

His Majesty expressed his confidence and that of all Jordanians in the role of the border guard units in defending the nation's borders and safeguarding it. 

His Majesty conveyed his deep appreciation for the sacrifices of the brave personnel of the Jordanian Armed Forces in preserving the security and stability of the homeland. He expressed pride in the ranks of the Eastern Military Zone and his great admiration for their efforts and sacrifices, particularly in countering infiltration and smuggling attempts.

His Majesty the King, in the presence of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, listened to a briefing provided by the Commander of the Eastern Military Zone on the recent developments on the region's front.

The Commander of the Eastern Military Zone affirmed the readiness of the region's combat units and the high morale they possess. He highlighted the operational, training, logistical tasks, and future plans for development and modernization across various domains.

During his inspection of the Operations and Control Unit at the command center, His Majesty familiarized himself with the border security monitoring system, electronic surveillance system, aerial reconnaissance aircraft broadcasting system, and weather monitoring system.

His Majesty emphasized the necessity of keeping pace with modern technology and appropriately incorporating it into the operations of all branches and units of the armed forces.

For his part, Al-Hunaiti confirmed the General Command's commitment to developing the formations and units of the armed forces, providing them with various weapons and equipment to enable them to fulfill their operational duties in alignment with the nature of threats in the region at all levels.
