The Central Traffic Department stated, Monday, that an individual was involved in a pedestrian accident on the Shafa Bridge on Martyr Street, heading towards the Sports City in Amman.

The department emphasized the importance of using pedestrian bridges to ensure the safety of citizens. They urged drivers to use vehicle lights, especially during the pre-dawn hours, to provide clear visibility on the road and avoid pedestrian accidents.

They pointed out that pedestrians crossing roads outside designated areas is one of the major causes of traffic congestion and accidents. On the other hand, the Highway Patrol Department stated that they dealt with a collision involving three vehicles on the Irbid-Amman road towards the capital near Salhoub interchange. The department added that the collision did not result in injuries and was limited to material damage.

The department further said that a vehicle was caught traveling at a speed of 100 to 174 km/h on the desert road in the Hassa area. Additionally, a vehicle was caught traveling at a speed of 80 to 158 km/h on the Dead Sea road near the Rameh interchange. Legal action was taken against the violators.
