Former Minister, Ma'an Qatamin, stated that we are facing a 'real media war' against any content related to the Gaza Strip.

He told Roya Thursday that during the aggression on Gaza, the Arab world began to feel a clear dominance of the algorithm on social media platforms to push away content related to what is happening in the Strip.

Qatamin pointed out that social media platforms have contributed to increasing the suppression of freedom and freedom of expression.

However, despite this, they have managed to convey some facts about what is happening in Gaza to countries around the world.

Qatamin explained that in 2022, the Arab world spent about USD 5.9 billion on social media platforms, and it is expected that the total spending in the next ten years will reach USD 100 billion.

He considered what happened in Gaza an assault on humanity as a whole, calling on the Arab world to reconsider its priorities with Arab strategic choices.

Qatamin urged the Arab world to open up to the global system, disseminate culture and civilization in multiple languages, and establish an Arab social media system.
