The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) issued a directive calling upon those responsible for food establishments and storage facilities to ensure the proper functioning of refrigeration, freezing devices, and food transport vehicles.

This precaution is of particular importance during the ongoing heatwave.

The focus lies on maintaining the quality of perishable foods, as well as adhering to the institution's guidelines for the handling and transportation of edibles.

In a statement, the JFDA emphasized that citizens must carefully inspect foods that require refrigeration and freezing.

It is essential to be careful and abstain from consuming any food that displays indications of spoilage, such as an unusual odor or changes in color.

The JFDA also stressed the importance of storing medication in line with the instructions provided in the accompanying leaflet and on the external packaging.

These guidelines outline specific conditions for preserving and storing medicines away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity.

Notably, medications should not be kept in high-temperature environments like kitchens, to prevent potential alterations to their composition and efficacy.

The JFDA called on citizens and residents to contact them for inquiries or complaints by calling their toll-free complaints line at 117114, via email at [email protected] or WhatsApp at 0795632000.
