The Central Traffic Department Tuesday revealed that improper overtaking, mishandling of turns and speeding are the top causes of traffic accidents over the past 24 hours.

The report noted that two vehicles were seized for speeding over 160 km/h on Azraq Road and Airport Road. The appropriate legal measures were taken against the drivers for their actions.

Emphasizing safe driving practices, the report stressed the importance of adhering to designated lanes to prevent accidents. The report also reminded drivers to use indicators properly and ensure that the road is clear of vehicles before switching lanes.

Drivers were urged to promptly contact the Traffic Department by dialing the emergency number 911 in case of vehicle breakdowns or road obstacles.

Notably, the department is available 24/7 to provide assistance and support.
