Two people died in the early hours of Wednesday morning and five others were injured after a pickup truck driver lost control of the vehicle on Desert Highway traveling towards Aqaba.

According to the Central Traffic Department, the accident resulted in two deaths, four moderate injuries and one critical injury, all of whom were transported to the Ma'an Governmental Hospital.

-Dangerous violations-

The department noted that two vehicles were seized over the past 24 hours for speeding. The first vehicle was traveling at a speed of up to 190 km/h and the other at up to 165 km/h, both on Shweier Road.

The spokesperson stressed that the necessary legal measures were taken against the drivers.
