Saturday marks the 59th birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

His Majesty received cables of well wishes on his 59th birthday from heads of state and government.

King Abdullah received similar cables from senior officials, heads of security agencies, and representatives of civil society organisations.

The senders noted that His Majesty’s birthday comes at a time when the Jordanian state embarks on its second centennial, which is an occasion to recall the country’s achievements under Hashemite leadership, and to move ahead towards further progress led by the King.

They noted Jordan’s strong ties with Arab and friendly countries under His Majesty’s leadership, stressing the importance of the King’s commitment to advancing Arab and Islamic causes, and to safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, in line with the Hashemite Custodianship.

The senders of the cables emphasized that the His Majesty’s birth is an occasion to recall the achievements made by Jordan under its Hashemite leadership, and to continue the process of building, development and modernity, under the leadership of His Majesty the King.

They also affirmed keenness on realizing His Majesty's reform visions and aspirations for a better life for the sons and daughters of Jordan, appreciating His Majesty's continuous stances in strengthening Jordan's role as a voice of moderation, and his endeavors to achieve peace in the region and the world.

They stressed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty, has become a model in its distinguished relations with its Arab counterparts and friends around the world, praising the positions of His Majesty in serving the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations and protecting the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Holy Jerusalem, based on the Hashemite guardianship over these sanctities.

His Highness, Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah posted a picture with His Majesty on his Instagram: “God has honored me with a father and leader, thank God, who devoted his life to the service of his country and its people.

Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh also wrote on Twitter: “It is a matter of pride and joy that the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II coincides this year with our celebration of the centenary of the Jordanian state; it is an occasion in which we renew the pledge of allegiance to our wise Hashemite leadership and the contract of loyalty to it. May God bless your life, our greatest King, and may every year be blessed for you, Jordan, and your loyal people.”
