King, Queen receive national martial arts sports team

His Majesty King Abdullah II, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, receives members of the National Martial Arts team at Al Husseiniya Palace, on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

The team participated in the 18th Asian Games and achieved outstanding results with a total of 12 medals, including two golds in Taekwondo and Jujitsu, one silver medal in Jujitsu and nine bronze medals in Taekwondo, Gujitsu, Karate and Boxing.

During the meeting, His Majesty expressed his great appreciation to all those who contributed to these distinctive achievements from players, coaches, trainers as well as administrators.

The King also stressed the importance of further developing programs that help preparing players and promoting the role of sport federations in order to achieve more positive results for the Jordanian sport-scene as a whole.

The Asian Games is a tournament that is held every four year and is considered the second largest sporting event after the Olympics in terms of number of games and number of athletes.
The 18th round of Asian Games took place in Indonesia between August 18 and September 2, 2018.
