Accepting an official invitation from the Syrian Chamber of Commerce, a Jordanian delegation will arrive in Syria later today to attend the Damascus International Fair event, which will take place between September 6 and September 15, 2018.

Spokesman of the Lower House of the Jordanian Parliament, Atef Tarawneh, stated that the delegation will include tens of Jordanians from the business sector. “Our relations will be restored," Tarawneh added.

Amman Chamber of Commerce's First Deputy Chairman, Ghassan Kharfan, said that there will be various business meetings between the Jordanian and the Syrian side to discuss ways of cooperation in the commercial, industrial and service fields. The meetings will help in boosting the trade cycle and overcoming the current obstacles that stand in the way of joint investments.

The delegation will discuss establishing a specialized committee that works on enhancing the collaboration between the two countries and organize further meetings between Syrian and Jordanian businessmen.

Established in 1954, this year marks the 60th anniversary of the Damascus International Fair. More than 45 countries and 1,700 Syrian, Arab and international companies will be participating in the oldest fair in the Middle East .
