Mohammad Al Momani, Minister of State for Media Affairs, expressed on Friday Jordan’s condemnation for the missile attack launched by Houthi rebels in Yemen toward Jazan, Saudi Arabia, dismissing it as an unacceptable act of aggression, Petra news agency reported.
The missile was intercepted by Saudi air defenses on Friday morning. The attempted strike, announced by the Saudi-led coalition fighting the rebels, is one of many targeting the southern coastal city.
Momani reiterated Jordan’s support for Saudi Arabia to reach a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Yemen and called upon the fighters on the Yemeni side to renounce violence targeting innocent civilians and join the negotiation table in accordance to UN resolutions.
