Eight Palestinians were killed on Thursday in an explosion in Gaza, officials said that the explosion was an intentional act after a family fight.

Spokesperson for the Hamas Ministry of Health said that eight people were killed in the explosion, including children; another 20 were wounded in “an explosion at a home” in the Gaza City.

A statement that was issued by police said a Gaza resident deliberately set a gas canister on fire while fighting with relatives, which caused the explosion.

The statement also said the police were investigating the incident.

Eyewitnesses said that the explosion caused a severe damage to the two-storey building.
