An Israeli court renewed on Wednesday the detention of Palestinian teenager Ahed Tamimi and denied her bail until the conclusion of her case.
Tamimi became an icon of Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation since she was a child, who would regularly confront the Israeli army in Al-Nabi Saleh village in the West Bank.
Tamimi was detained after the release of a video showing her hitting two Israeli soldiers and slapping one of them on the face.
Her detention aroused a huge wave of Palestinian, Arab and international angry reactions, as it highlighted the Israeli violations against Palestinian children.
If Tamimi is convicted, she is expected to be remain behind bars for years.
